Booked  full hotel rooms and a spotless sorority house; It must be parents weekend.

Alpha Delta Pi’s annual parents weekend was held the first weekend in November to not only introduce parents to the world of Alpha Delta Pi but to also raise money for the Ronald McDonald House.

Friday night the parents were invited over to the house to get a preview of the everyday life as an ADPi. Chocolate fountains and gourmet cupcakes were a hit while the parents socialized and toured the house. Saturday morning the families packed on their layers as they prepared to hike to Monkey Face Rock in Upper Bidwell Park.

The parents and their daughters arrived at Butte Creek Country Club that night in cocktail attire and enjoyed the evening dining, laughing and taking their pictures in a photo booth. The event also honored the seniors and congratulated the president who would soon be stepping down.

The raffle featured prizes donated by local downtown businesses and donations from the businesses of parents. One hundred percent of the proceeds went toward the Ronald McDonald House.

“The raffle was a great success this year,” Hayley Barrett said. “Even though I didn’t win, it was for a good cause.”

The money from raffle tickets alone at the event raised $971 for the Ronald McDonald House. Parents were also asked to bring donations for the Butte Humane Society upon arrival at the banquet.
