Autism Walk

By: Ariel Alvero
On April 1st, North Valley Community Foundation held an event in Chico at Lower Bidwell Park to support families dealing with the neural developmental difficulties that autistic individuals face.

The name of the nonprofit fund created by the North Valley Community Foundation is Yellow Door, which give all of their proceeds to residents of Chico facing this disability.

The event began at 8:30 a.m. and it was a $10 fee for all walking participants.  The walk began at Sycamore field and proceeded through the park.

Gamma Phi Beta lent a playful helping hand by creating a fun face painting booth for children. Autism Walk Alpha Phi also got in the spirit with a booth that helped children create fun coloring books.

Special thanks to all of the Greeks who came together for this event and came out to support the children.
