Alpha Phi hosted their 2nd annual King of Hearts philanthropy event last week ending with the Mr. Alpha Phi pageant on April 12.

Alpha Phi’s King of Hearts works to raise money for The Alpha Phi Foundation, which supports women’s heart health.

“The pageant is fun, entertaining and it’s all for a great cause,” said Alisha Zajac, a member of Alpha Phi.

One competitor from each fraternity participated in the pageant in hopes of being crowned Mr. Alpha Phi. The categories of the pageant were casual, formal wear, swimwear, talent, and question and answer.

The pageant started off with an opening dance done by the participants followed by casual and formal wear.

Next, the gentlemen showcased their unique abilities during the talent portion. Talents ranged from guitar playing and singing by Jake Bennett from Pi Kappa Alpha to acrobatics performed by Jack Lincoln from Phi Delta Theta.

The audience was filled with members from other sororities and fraternities, there to support their fellow Greeks.

At the end of the night, Austin Cooper, from Sigma Chi, won the title of Mr. Alpha Phi and Theta Chi won the entire King ofHearts philanthropy event.

With the success of this year’s King of Hearts, Alpha Phi was able to raise money and awareness for cardiac care.
